ALSO grows beyond market level


Emmen LU - ALSO achieved growth in net sales, operating income, and profit in the first six months of 2021 versus the previous year. According to information provided by the Lucerne-based IT logistics company, the results are above the market level. The cloud business has proven to be a particular driver of growth.


According to a press release by ALSO, the internationally active IT logistics company based in Emmen in the canton of Lucerne achieved net sales amounting to 5.9 billion euros in the first six months of 2021. Compared with the results from the previous year, this corresponds to growth of 9.7 percent. ALSO explains that its cloud business has proven to be a particular driver of growth, with its net sales increasing by 38.2 percent year on year.


As operating income, the EBTIDA was recorded as 114.7 million euros in the reported half-year, which is 24.1 percent higher than the same period the previous year. The net profit was 45.1 percent higher versus the prior year, with almost 65.0 million euros. The return on capital employed (ROCE) increased from 17.6 percent to 19.4 percent in the same period.


ALSO writes in a press release that the company “was once again able to achieve a result significantly above market level” for the first six months, with this period being good for the entire industry. Gustavo Möller-Hergt, CEO of ALSO Holding AG, is quoted in the statement, saying “ALSO’s success is the result of our strategy and its implementation over the past ten years.” He adds that the company has thereby “also laid the foundation for sustainable, profitable growth in the future”.


ALSO plans to achieve an EBITDA between 240 million and 155 million euros for 2021 as a whole. The company is aiming at a ROCE of 15 to 20 percent.
