Concordia wins at employer awards

Lucerne – At the Swiss Employer Awards 2020, Concordia Krankenversicherung qualified as the best employer in the category of companies with more than 1,000 employees. Overall, four companies from the canton of Lucerne were ranked in the leading groups within their respective categories.

Around 120 companies from Switzerland and Liechtenstein competed for the prizes on offer at this year’s Swiss Employer Awards, the competition organizers write in a press release. The assessments of a company’s own employees were key factors in their performance, with these being collected by means of a scientifically developed questionnaire.

In the category of large companies with more than 1,000 employees, Lucerne-based Concordia was ranked in first place. The health insurance company has been “as solid as a rock for more than a century both for its policyholders and employees”, the list of winners states with regard to the victorious firm.

Another three companies based in the canton of Lucerne were represented in two other categories of the employer awards. For example, JT International AG, which is based in Dagmersellen, took third place in the category for companies with between 250 and 999 employees. With Thermoplan AG from Weggis ranked in 15th position, another Lucerne company successfully made it into the leading group for this category.

In the category of companies with 100-249 employees, BitHawk AG from Sursee achieved a ranking of third place. “This top result shows that entrepreneurial thinking backed up by a positive, partnership-based approach with employees and customers is deeply engrained in the BitHawk business model”, comments BitHawk CEO Oliver Schalch in a press release issued by his company covering the awards.
