Schurter delivers components for ventilators

 

Lucerne – Schurter has ramped up production processes for its medical technology components. The Lucerne-based company is seeking to meet increased demand as a result of the coronavirus crisis. Its components will be used in ventilation devices, for example.

 

Schurter develops and builds components and input devices for industrial applications. These are also used in the field of medical technology. Over recent months, the company has ramped up production processes for its medical technology products, as detailed in a press release. In this context, Schurter is seeking to position itself to successfully serve increased demand as a result of the coronavirus.

 

Schurter products are, for example, being used in ventilators, as Thomas Helbling, Sales Executive at Schurter’s German subsidiary, explained to the newspaper Badische Zeitung as part of an article published back in the spring. According to Helbling, the company supplies the control unit including the touchscreen. In terms of clientele, Hamilton, which manufactures ventilators at its European headquarters in the canton of Graubünden, is a customer of Schurter.

 

Schurter is a globally operating family company based in Lucerne. In addition to medical technology, its products are used in the fields of automotive technology, aviation and aerospace in addition to energy technology.
