Lucerne - Wascosa AG from Lucerne has developed the Tanpps freight wagon together with two partners. It has been designed specifically for transporting goods that are sensitive to moisture. The last of 404 new wagons in the series was put into operation in May.

Wascosa AG has developed the Tanpps freight wagon together with WBN Waggonbau Niesky GmbH from Germany and the raw material group K+S. According to a press release, it has been designed for transporting goods that are sensitive to moisture such as fertilizer and salts. It has a special internal coating to protect against corrosion. Moreover, it is distinguished by its loading and unloading system, which means that freight can be unloaded both from the side and from the middle. A special coating with a low wear rate and good sliding properties also ensures rapid unloading of the wagon.

This joint development from Wascosa and its partners was a success: According to information from Wascosa, the last out of a total of 404 new wagons in the series was put into operation in May.

Wascosa is a family company that was founded in 1964 and is headquartered in Lucerne. The company’s core business is leasing and managing freight wagons for rail transport. However, Wascosa is also involved in developing new solutions.
