Komax expands in sensor cables market


Komax has acquired Exmore, a Belgium company that specialises in processing sensor cables. Used to make cars more intelligent and automated, sensor cables are growing in importance.

Komax, a manufacturer of innovation solutions for wire processing based in Dierikon in the canton of Lucerne, is strengthening its activities in intelligent vehicles by acquiring the Belgian company Exmore. Founded in 1993, Exmore specializes in developing customer-specific solutions for processing sensor cables. According to a Komax press release, these are used in a wide range of market segments including the automotive industry, consumer electronics, aerospace and medical technology.

“The Exmore workforce’s wealth of experience in the applications field is extremely valuable for Komax,” said Komax CEO Matijas Meyer. “This specialist knowledge ideally complements our existing expertise and will generate additional solutions for our customers.”

Exmore CEO Luc Sneyders, who will continue to lead Exmore, said: “I’m delighted that the acquisition by Komax will enable my employees to continue working in a Group that accords top priority to innovation.” Sneyders was previously a major shareholder and has led the company since it was founded.

Exmore has 60 employees and will be consolidated in the Komax Group as of 1 October.
